What is this metric used for?


The Institutional Investments allows to evaluate if my technology is considered strategic.


By analyzing the financing of institutional projects, it is possible to visualize whether a technology is the subject of strong strategic investment by State or public institutions. Some technologies are then considered as priorities at the national or trans-national scale.




How is the graphic built?

The graph aggregates institutional financing from various sources (European projects, grants, SBIR & STTR) on a technology. The data is presented year by year over the last 20 years, thus showing the trend of strategic investments on technology.

The graph shows the trend of institutional investments on the topic : each column indicates the sum of the institutional funds of the European and US financed projects (FP5, FP6, FP7, H2020, SBIR, STTR) related to the topic per year.
